Blessed Bite 2: $8,000 raised to fight hunger in Lebanon!
With more than 230 attendees, more than 70 tombola contributors, more than $8,000 fund-raised and endless number of smiles, the Blessed Bite Suhoor took place on the 13th of June in Kahwet Beirut under the theme of healthy eating in Ramadan.
Ramadan is the perfect time to give back and what could be better than feeding the hungry in this holy month. We believe that no one should go to sleep hungry and that each person should have an equal right to proper nutrition.
Hunger can affect society in so many detrimental ways. One of them is malnutrition which can affect children’s school performance, immunity and intelligence, which, in turn can make it almost impossible for children to complete school and earn a living during adulthood.
Every year as Healthy Happy Us, we organize a charity Suhoor in collaboration with Health Food Diary to support a cause that we believe in. This year we decided to support the Lebanese Food Bank and join them in their mission to fight hunger in Lebanon. Check this link to learn more about the Lebanese Food Bank.
Attendees were enjoying live ‘Oud music, Henna art as well as a healthy and delicious Suhoor. All attendees left with plenty of giveaways from our generous sponsors Eshmoon Holistics, Al Rifai Nuts, Nutrama Bakery and Khan Al Saboun.
A health Ramadan guide was prepared by Healthy Happy Us and health food diary to help all attendees make healthy choices during Ramadan by sharing their favorite tips, tricks and healthy Ramadan recipes.
We can’t thank our generous sponsors enough (Baraket Travel, Fleur a Manger, Chamas Printing, Eshmoon Holistics, Al Rifai Nuts, Khan Al Saboun, Bank Audi), our volunteers, each and every person who attended this event and helped fulfill our mission this year!
With your help we were able to fundraise more than $8,000 for the Lebanese Food Bank. This money will be used to distribute food boxes to more than 400 families and more than 1600 person in need.
