Protein: Animal or Plant-Based?

What’s the best type of protein? A question a lot of us have been asking for a long time. Especially with the rise of allergies to cows milk protein and dairy, people are cutting down on dairy protein sources and leaning towards plant-based protein powder. But, not all plant proteins are complete proteins. Find out what’s the most suitable protein powder for you below.

Two Healthy Protein Rich Recipes by Baraa Sabbagh, Dietitian, Sports Nutritionist and Personal Trainer

So many people ask us for healthy protein recipes and often they’re afraid of using whey protein as an ingredient. Some people worry about it having chemicals or additives but that’s not always true. 

What is whey protein?

Natural milk is made up of 2 main protein components: whey and casein. Whey protein is the quicker absorbed protein in the body (which is a great ingredient in healthy protein recipes). Casein is the more slowly absorbed whey protein. For that reason, athletes usually prefer whey protein to enhance the protein absorption rate to the muscles.
