Two Healthy Protein Rich Recipes by Baraa Sabbagh, Dietitian, Sports Nutritionist and Personal Trainer

October 05, 2016

So many people ask us for healthy protein recipes and often they’re afraid of using whey protein as an ingredient. Some people worry about it having chemicals or additives but that’s not always true.

What is whey protein?

Natural milk is made up of 2 main protein components: whey and casein. Whey protein is the quicker absorbed protein in the body (which is a great ingredient in healthy protein recipes). Casein is the more slowly absorbed whey protein. For that reason, athletes usually prefer whey protein to enhance the protein absorption rate to the muscles. The process to get the whey protein is not a chemical process but a dehydration as well as filtration process. This post is written by Baraa El Sabbagh, US registered dietitian nutritionist, sports dietitian, personal trainer at Healthy Happy Us, a nutrition and exercise diet center in Lebanon.

In choosing the right whey protein make sure to select one that does not have any additives or chemicals. We’re currently using Cabot Whey Protein as it is made of pure whey protein. It’s also unflavored, which is a plus when using it in your healthy protein recipes.
